What should someone who is ill and unable to fast during Ramadan do?

Shaikh al-Albaani:
“If the doctors said that this ill person will probably be cured, then he does not offer any expiation, but rather waits until he is cured inshaa Allah and makes up the missed fasts. And if the doctors said that he will probably not be cured, then he expiates for each day by feeding a poor person.”
